RENAISSANCE VILLA NESTLED IN THE HILLS ABOVE FLORENCE. This is a historical property in the hills above Florence, five minutes from the beautiful town of Fiesole, consisting of over 64 acres of land. The main villa was built in the 13th Century, enlarged in the 16th Century and an extra building was added on in the 19th Century. It has a courtyard and "nympheum", which are said to have been designed by the Renaissance Florentine artist Bernardo Buontalenti. The main villa extends on three floors with a total of 21,527 square feet of living space, the first and second floors of which are regularly used for events and parties. The third floor needs renovating, as does the 19th Century structure attached to the main villa - this extends over two floors with 3,229 square feet of living space. The neighboring farmhouse with two living rooms, five bedrooms, four bathrooms and large kitchen was recently restored. The present owners did a great deal of work consolidating the land and reinforcing the buildings, which ended in 1995. The garden is beautifully kept and surrounded by vineyards, olive groves and woods, offering stunning views over the property, no neighbors in sight. Florence is visible at the foot of the hills.
